Sometimes, what no one knows about you is far more important than what everyone knows about you!

Let’s take Abner Doubleday for example:Most of us know that he was the inventor of the game of baseball?

But did you know?

*In all of his literary works, which number well into the hundreds or even thousands, he never once even uttered the word baseball.

*As the men under his command were getting blasted (literally) at Ft. Sumter, he was the man who actually started/began the Civil War by telling his men to return fire.  If he hadn’t, every man there that day would have been lost.

*(As an officer of combat, he made it through the bloodiest of all battles (Gettysburg), and also the bloodiest day of battle ever (Antietam).

What does this all mean?

Let’s be honest here:

These things most likely helped Doubleday, more than anything else, in being chosen as the leader and the face of Baseball…Our National Pastime.

Sometimes, what no one knows about you is far more important than what everyone knows about you!
